شمائل ترمذی (حدیث 298)Sayyiduna Qatadah رضي الله عنه said: Allah Almighty sent every prophet with a handsome appearance and a beautiful voice, and your Noble Prophet ﷺ was also handsome and had a beautiful voice. However, he ﷺ did not always recite with melodious tones.
Sayyiduna Ya’li said that I asked Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidatuna Umm Salma رضي الله عنها about the Final Prophet’s ﷺ manner of recitation. She told me, pronouncing each letter clearly and distinctly. Sayyiduna Qatada رضي الله عنه said that I asked Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه about the manner of the Beloved Prophet's ﷺ recitation. He said that the Beloved Prophet ﷺ would prolong the letters that should be prolonged (letters with Madd). Sayyidatuna Umm Salma رضي الله عنها said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ would recite each verse separately, pausing after each verse. For example, he would pause after الحمد للّٰہ رب العٰلمین and then pause after الرحمن الرحیم and then recite مٰلک یوم الدین. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said that the voice of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ during recitation was just loud enough to be heard by those in the hallway/corridor if he was reciting in a room. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal رضي الله عنه said that I saw the Holy Prophet ﷺ reciting انا فتحنا لک فتحا مبینا لیغفر لک اللّٰہ ماتقدم من ذنبک وما تاخر on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ was reciting with repetition. Muawiya bin Qara (a narrator of this hadith) said that if I were not afraid of people gathering, I would demonstrate the recitation in the same manner. Sayyidatuna Umm Hani رضي الله عنها said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ used to recite the Quran in Masjid al Haraam, and I used to hear his recitation from the roof of my house at night.
