شمائل ترمذی (حدیث 345)Sayyiduna Huzaifa رضي الله عنه said: Once, I met the Holy Prophet ﷺ on the road while he was walking. As a reminder, the Holy Prophet ﷺ said: “My name is Muhammad, and Ahmad, and I am the Prophet of Mercy, the Prophet of Repentance, Muqaffi, the Gatherer (Hashir), and Nabi al-Malahim.”
Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut'im رضي الله عنه says that the Holy Prophet ﷺ said, 'I have many names, among them are Muhammad and Ahmad, and Mahi, which means the eraser, through whom Allah has erased disbelief. And one name is Hashir, that Allah will raise me first for the resurrection on the Day of Judgment, and the entire Ummah will be resurrected after the Holy Prophet ﷺ. So, it is as if the Holy Prophet ﷺ became the cause of the resurrection of the entire Ummah. And one of my names is Aqib, which means the one who comes last. The Holy Prophet ﷺ came after all the prophets; no one will come after him.' Hafiz Jalaluddin Suyuti رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ compiled a treatise called 'Al-Bahja al-Saniyya fi al-Asma al-Nabawiyya' (The Radiant Delight in the Prophetic Names), in which he mentioned five hundred of the Holy Prophet's ﷺ blessed names. Similarly, Hafiz Ibn Asakir رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ, in his book 'Tarikh Dimashq' (History of Damascus), established a chapter on the names of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ and mentioned many of the Beloved Prophet's ﷺ descriptive names and titles. Similarly, Ibn Dihya compiled a separate treatise on the blessed names of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Hafiz al-Hadith Allama Sakhawi mentioned four hundred of his names in a treatise.
