ریاض الصالحین (حدیث 886)Sayyiduna Abu Khattab Qatadah رحمه الله عليه said: I asked Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه, “Did the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ greet each other by shaking hands?” He رضي الله عنه replied: “Yes, they used to shake hands with one another.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When two Muslims meet and shake hands, praising Allah and seeking forgiveness from Him, their sins are forgiven.' Allama Ghulam Rasul Razvi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ said, 'The Master of the Universe ﷺ said, "My companions are like stars, whoever you follow, you will be guided." When they met each other, they used to shake hands.' It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would shake hands with someone, he would not withdraw his hand until the other person did, and he would not turn his face away until the other person turned his face away. Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رحمۃ اللہ علیہ said, 'Shaking hands is a Sunnah and the time for it is at the beginning of a meeting, whether it is a real beginning, like when someone has just arrived.'
