شمائل ترمذی (حدیث 211)Sayyidatuna Aisha رضي الله عنها said: The speech of the Holy Prophet ﷺ was not rushed or continuous like that of you people. Rather, he spoke clearly and distinctly, in a manner that those sitting with him could memorize it.
Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ sometimes repeated his words three times as needed, so that his listeners could understand well. Sayyiduna Imam Hassan رضي الله عنه said that I asked my maternal uncle, Hind bin Abi Hala, who often described the attributes of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, to describe the manner of speech of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ was constantly preoccupied with the concerns of the Hereafter. He ﷺ was always thinking about the attributes of Allah Almighty or the well-being of his Ummah. Due to these matters, he ﷺ did not have any carefree moments or worldly comfort. Rather, his comfort and peace came from matters other than worldly affairs. As the Hadith states, 'The coolness of my eye is Salah.' He ﷺ often remained silent and did not speak unnecessarily. All of his speech, from beginning to end, was clear and articulate. (It was not like the arrogant people of today who speak in a hasty and unclear manner). He spoke with complete words and his speech was distinct. There was no redundancy or obscurity in his speech. He was not harsh in his manner.
