Personal Traits of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ

Hadith

Translation

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “There are two blessings in which many people are deceived: good health and free time.”

Narration

This means: O human being! You are merely a collection of days. Whenever a day passes, understand that a part of your life has also passed. Once someone requested Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz رحمۃ اللہ علیہ, saying: "O Commander of the Faithful, you can do this work tomorrow." To which he replied: "I can barely finish the work of one day in a day. If I leave today's work for tomorrow, then how will I be able to do two days' work in one day?"
