شمائل ترمزی (حدیث 16)Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah رضي الله عنه said: I saw the Seal of Prophethood between the blessed shoulders of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. It was like a reddish raised mark and about the size of a pigeon’s egg.
Uqba bin Amir reported that Amr bin al-Aas رضي الله عنه told him the following story: Once, the Beloved Prophet ﷺ asked me to massage his back. As I was massaging his back, my finger accidentally touched the Seal of Prophethood. Uqba said, "I asked Amr, 'What was the Seal of Prophethood?' He replied, 'It was a cluster of hairs.'" Abdullah bin Sarjis reported that I once went to see the Beloved Prophet ﷺ. There was a gathering around him. I circled behind him (the narrator likely demonstrated the action here). The Beloved Prophet ﷺ understood my intention and removed his shawl from his back. I saw the Seal of Prophethood between his two shoulders, about the size of a fist, surrounded by moles that looked like freckles." Aqba bin Abd al-Salami asked the Noble Prophet ﷺ, 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, how did your prophethood begin?' So he narrated the incident of being nursed by the Banu Sa'd, in which he mentioned that when the angels split his chest, one said to the other, 'Suture it,' and the other sutured it and placed the Seal of Prophethood upon it.
