صحیح بخاری،کتاب الانبیاء (حدیث3475)It is narrated from Sayyidatuna Aisha رضي الله عنها that a woman from the Makhzum tribe (Fatimah bint Aswad) committed theft during the time of the Conquest, and the matter deeply concerned the Quraysh. They consulted among themselves as to who should speak to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it. They concluded that none would dare except Usamah bin Zayd, as he was very dear to the Beloved Prophet ﷺ. So Usamah spoke to him regarding the matter. The Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “O Usamah, are you interceding with me concerning one of the limits set by Allah?” Then he stood and delivered a sermon in which he said, “Many nations before you were destroyed because when a noble among them committed theft, they let him go, but when a weak person stole, they enforced the punishment upon him. By Allah, even if Fatimah bint Muhammad ﷺ, were to steal, I would cut off her hand.”
Once, a woman from the Makhzum clan committed theft. The Quraysh wanted to prevent the prescribed punishment (Hadd) from being carried out. They requested Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid رضي الله عنه, who was especially beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to intercede on her behalf. So, Sayyiduna Usama رضي الله عنه interceded with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ﷺ said: 'Do you intercede concerning one of the prescribed punishments of Allah? Those before you (the Children of Israel) were destroyed for this reason: when a noble person among them stole, they would let him go; but when a weak one among them stole, they would carry out the punishment on him. By Allah, if Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad ﷺ, were to do such a thing, I would cut off her hand.' One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was distributing spoils of war. A man came and leaned on him. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ tapped him with a dry date-palm branch that was in his blessed hand, which caused a scratch on his face. The Noble Prophet ﷺ said, 'Take retaliation from me.' He replied: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I forgive you.' The Beloved Prophet ﷺ was arranging the ranks for the Battle of Badr. Sayyiduna Sawad bin Ghaziyyah Ansari was standing ahead of the line. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ tapped him on the stomach with an arrow shaft and said: 'Be straight, O Sawad!' Sawad then demanded retaliation from the Beloved Prophet ﷺ. The Noble Prophet ﷺ immediately uncovered his blessed abdomen and said, 'Take retaliation.'
