مشکاۃالمصابیح، باب النفقات وحق المملوک(حدیث 3369)Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Dharr رضی اللہ عنہ, he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Your slaves who are agreeable to you, feed them from what you eat and clothe them from what you wear. And those who are not agreeable to you, sell them and do not torture the creatures of Allah."
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud Ansari رضي الله عنه narrates: 'I was beating my slave when I heard a voice from behind me: 'O Abu Mas'ud! Know that Allah has more power over you than you have over this slave.' I turned around and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I have freed him for the sake of Allah.' He said, 'Beware! If you had not done so, the fire of Hell would have scorched you.' Sayyiduna Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه narrates: 'I verbally abused a non-Arab slave, and he complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Abu Dharr! You still have traces of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) within you. They are your brothers. Allah has given you superiority over them. If any of them does not suit you, sell him, and do not inflict punishment upon Allah's creation.'
