In battles, the Beloved Prophet’s ﷺ instruction was not to kill children, women, and the elderly. The existence of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ was especially a mercy for girls. In the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah), some Arabs, fearing poverty, used to bury their daughters alive. Consequently, a person came to the Beloved Prophet ﷺ and said: 'We were people of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) and idolaters, and we used to kill our children. I had a daughter; I called her, and she happily followed me. When I reached a well belonging to my family nearby, I took her hand and threw her into the well. She kept saying, "Oh my father! Oh my father!"' Upon hearing this, tears flowed from the eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ﷺ said, 'Tell me this story again.' When the man repeated it, he ﷺ cried so much that his blessed beard became wet with tears.
