صحیح بخاری (حدیث 1375)Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari رضي الله تعالى عنه narrated that the Noble Prophet ﷺ once went outside Madinah after sunset. At that time, he ﷺ heard a sound and then said: “A Jew is being punished in his grave.”
The Beloved Prophet ﷺ possessed a hearing ability that was distinct and superior to that of ordinary people. In one narration regarding this, the following prophetic saying is found: Imam Ibn Abi Aasim narrates: تسمعون ما اسمع؟ فقالوا: ما نسمع من شى. قال: انى لاسمع اطیط السماء "Do you hear what I hear?" The companions replied, "We do not hear anything." He said, "Indeed, I hear the faintest whisper of the heavens." This shows that the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, by the grace of Allah, could see and hear things that ordinary people could not. Furthermore, the Beloved Prophet ﷺ himself explained what he saw and heard. Even though he was on Earth, which is millions of miles away from the heavens, he could hear the sounds and observe the conditions of the heavens. Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported that we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he heard a rumbling sound. He asked, "Do you know what this sound is?" We replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, ھذا حجر رمى به فى النار منذ سبعین خریفا فھو یھوى فى النار الآن حتى انھى الى قعرھا "This is a stone that was thrown into Hellfire seventy years ago. It was still falling in it until now and has reached its bottom." Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه also reported that the Beloved Prophet ﷺ said to Bilal at the time of morning Salah, "Tell me, of all the deeds you have done in Islam, which deed do you expect the greatest reward for? For I have heard the sound of your sandals walking in front of me in Paradise." Bilal replied, "I have not done any deed for which I expect a great reward. However, whenever I perform ablution, day or night, I pray as many prayers as are destined for me." The Beloved Prophet's ﷺ hearing and sight were unlike those of other humans. Like all his attributes, the power of his hearing and sight was unique and miraculous. Hearing distant sounds was a well-known miracle of his blessed ears. Sayyidatuna Maimunah رضي الله عنها reported: One night, the Beloved Prophet ﷺ stayed at my place. When he got up for ablution, I heard him say during ablution, "I am present, I am coming to help, you have been helped." When he came out, I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I heard you say لبیک لبیک نصرت نصرت three times while performing ablution, as if you were speaking to someone. Was there anyone with you?" He said, "Yes, the poet of Bani Ka'b was calling me for help, thinking that Quraysh had helped Bani Bakr against them." The Beloved Prophet ﷺ then went to Sayyidatuna Aisha رضي الله عنها and told her to prepare. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه came to Sayyidatuna Aisha رضي الله عنها and asked, "O daughter, what are you preparing for?" She replied, "By Allah, I do not know." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه said, "By Allah, this is not the time to fight with Bani Asfar. Where does the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intend to go?" Umm al-Momeenin Aisha رضي الله عنها said, "By Allah, I do not know." She said, "We stayed there for three days. Then one day, he led the Fajr prayer, and I heard him reciting lines of poetry... Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said لبیک لبیک three times, then نصرت، نصرت three times." Sayyid Muhammad ibn Sulaiman al-Jazuli al-Shadhili narrates: وقیل لرسوللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم: ارایت صلاة المصلین علیك ممن غاب عنك ومن یاتى بعدك ما حالھما عند ك فقال: اسمع صلاة اھل محبتى واعرفھم وتعرض على صلاة غیرھم عرضا" "It was asked of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, 'What is the condition of those who are far away from you and those who will come after you, when they send blessings upon you?' The Beloved Prophet ﷺ said, 'I hear the blessings of the people who love me and I know them, and the blessings of those who do not love me are conveyed to me by the angels.'
