شمائل ترمذی (حدیث 348)Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله تعالٰى عنه narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Talhah رضي الله تعالٰى عنه that he said: We complained of hunger to the Noble Prophet ﷺ and lifted our garments to show the single stone tied to our abdomens. The Noble Prophet ﷺ then lifted his blessed garment and revealed two stones tied to his blessed abdomen.
The noble abdomen of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ was not protruded beyond his sacred chest, which is considered the most important aspect of masculine beauty and grace. In this regard, Sayyiduna Hind bint Abi Hala states: كان رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم سواء البطن والصدر ‘The Beloved Prophet ﷺ had an equal abdomen and chest.’ Sayyidatuna Umm Hani, speaking about the Beloved Prophet’s abdomen, says: مارایت بطن رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم قط الا ذكرت القراطیس المثنیة بعضھا على بعض ‘I always saw the Beloved Prophet’s ﷺ abdomen as folded papers, one on top of the other, delicate and soft.’ Similarly, Sayyiduna Umar Farooq رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ says: كان رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم دقیق المسربة له شعرات من لبته الى سرته كانھن قضیب مسك اذفر ولم یكن فى جسده ولا صدره شعرات غیرھن ‘The Beloved Prophet ﷺ had a fine line of hair from his chest to his navel, resembling a line of musk. There were no other hairs on his body or chest.’ Imam Ibn Ishaq said: Hiban bin Was’a bin Hiban narrated from some of the elders of his people that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was arranging the ranks of his companions on the day of Badr. He had an arrow in his hand with which he was straightening the ranks of his people. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ passed by Sayyiduna Suwayd bin Uzaiz, of Bani Adi bin Najjar, who was standing ahead of the line. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ lightly struck his abdomen with the arrow and said: ‘O Suwayd! Straighten yourself.’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! It hurt me, and Allah has sent you with truth and justice. So give me compensation for this strike.’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ immediately lifted his shirt from his noble abdomen and said: ‘Come, take revenge.’ He quickly embraced the Beloved Prophet ﷺ and kissed his noble belly. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ asked, ‘O Suwayd! Why did you do that?’ He replied: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! You see the situation we are facing. I wished that when I left this world, my skin would touch your blessed skin.’ Upon this, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered Du’a for him.
