The Blessed Cheeks of the Exalted Prophet ﷺ

Sayyiduna Hind bin Abi Hala رضي الله عنه narrated, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had smooth cheeks.' This means that his blessed cheeks were extremely beautiful. They were a mix of white and red in color, soft, and pleasing. There were no bumps or depressions, but rather they were in perfect balance. Both of his cheeks were not raised, but were smooth. Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Safwan رضي الله عنه narrated, 'When the Beloved Prophet ﷺ conquered Makkah, I thought to myself, "I will go home and change my clothes which was on the way and see what the Beloved Prophet ﷺ is doing." So I went and reached the Noble Prophet ﷺ at a time when he had come out of the Ka’bah. The Companions were kissing the Ka’bah from the door to the Hatim, and they had placed their cheeks on the Ka’bah. The Beloved Prophet ﷺ was among them all. I asked Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه, "What did the Noble Prophet ﷺ do when he entered the Ka’bah?" He replied, "The Beloved Prophet ﷺ offered two rakats." The Beloved Prophet's ﷺ blessed cheeks always had a freshness like that of a flower bud. As Imam Sharifuddin Busiri said in the Qasida Burda Sharif رحمۃ اللہ علیہ, كالز ھرفى ترف والبدر فى شرف"* *"والبحرفى كرم والد ھرفى ھمم “Like a flower bud in freshness, a full moon in greatness, an ocean in generosity, and an era in courage.” In essence, Allah had bestowed upon the Beloved Prophet ﷺ such cheeks that were neither sunken nor raised, nor were there any inappropriate bumps, but rather they were perfectly suited to the appearance of his blessed face. Along with this, there were no wrinkles in his cheeks but a beautiful glow that was pleasing to the eyes and greatly enhanced the beauty of his blessed face. This was a miracle of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ that all blemishes and imperfections were absent from his blessed cheeks until his last moments. Whenever and in whatever state the Companions saw his blessed cheeks, they described it. Beloved Prophet ﷺ like a flower bud in freshness, a full moon in greatness. What great qualities Allah Almighty had placed within him. Humanity has not yet reached the understanding of them.
