ریاض الصالحین (حدیث 1197)Sayyiduna Huzaifa رضي الله تعالٰى عنه said: Whenever the Noble Messenger ﷺ woke up from sleep, he would cleanse his blessed mouth with a miswak.
Concerning the description of the blessed mouth of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, Hazrat Hind ibn Abi Haleh states: كان رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم ضلیع الفم 'The Messenger of Allahﷺ had a wide mouth.' This same characteristic of the blessed mouth has also been mentioned by Hazrat Jabir ibn Samrah. Similarly, it is narrated from Hazrat Jamee: كان رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم ضلیع الفم مفلّج الأسنان 'The Messenger of Allahﷺ had a slightly wide mouth and his teeth were not joint/very close together, but there was a slight gap and spaciousness between them.' Regarding the rays of light that used to come out from the blessed mouth of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qursafah: بایعنا رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم انا وامى وخالتى فلما رجعنا قالت امى وخالتى: یا بنى ما راینا مثل ھذا الرجل احسن وجھا ولا انقى ثوبا ولا الین كلاما وراینا كالنور یخرج من فیه 'I, my mother, and my aunt pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allahﷺ, and when we returned, my mother and aunt said to me, "O son, we have never seen a person more handsome in face, cleaner in clothing, or gentler in speech, and we saw as if light was coming out from his mouth."' The breath and saliva, etc., that came out of the blessed mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a fragrance more excellent than the best of perfumes. In this regard, Hazrat Anas states: شممت العطر كله فلم اشم نكھة اطیب من نكھة رسول اللّٰه صلى اللّٰه علیه وسلم 'I have smelled every kind of perfume, but I have not smelled a fragrance more pleasant than the fragrance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' The blessed mouth of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ was also extremely beautiful and well-proportioned. However, it should be kept in mind that the Beloved Prophet ﷺ used to use miswak after waking up, as an example for us, but in the blessed mouth of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, there was always only fragrance.
