مشکاۃ المصابیح (حدیث 4282)It is narrated from Zuhri, who narrated from Urwah, who narrated from Sayyidatuna Aisha رضي الله عنها that the Messenger of Allah’s ﷺ most beloved drink was cool and sweet.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه narrates that both he and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid رضي الله عنه went with the Holy Prophet ﷺ to the house of Sayyidatuna Maymuna رضي الله عنها (who was the maternal aunt of both of them). She brought milk in a vessel, and the Holy Prophet ﷺ drank from it. I was on his right side, and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid رضي الله عنه was on his left. He ﷺ said to me, 'Now it is your right to drink (as you are on the right side). If you wish, you may give preference to Khalid.' I said, 'I cannot give preference to anyone over what is left over by you ﷺ.' After that, the Holy Prophet ﷺ said, 'When Allah Almighty gives something to someone to eat or drink, they should recite a supplication (dua).' That is, the Holy Prophet ﷺ generally preferred cold sweet water, and he also liked milk lassi, but he would partake of it occasionally. Therefore, this Hadith does not contradict those Hadith in which it is mentioned that the Holy Prophet ﷺ liked milk mixed with water or water sweetened with honey.
