عَنْ سِمَاکِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ وَقَدْ سُئِلَ عَنْ شَيْبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم فَقَالَ کَانَ إِذَا دَهَنَ رَأْسَهُ لَمْ يُرَ مِنْهُ شَيْبٌ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَدْهِنْ رُئِيَ مِنْهُ شَيْئٌ۔
شمائل ترمزی (حدیث 38)Someone asked Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه about the white hair of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He replied: When the Holy Prophet ﷺ used oil, they would not be noticeable. Otherwise, a few strands of white hair could be seen here and there.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that he counted only fourteen white hairs in the Holy Prophet's ﷺ blessed head and beard. Similarly, some narrations mention seventy or eighteen. In a hadith in Shamail, narrated by Sayyiduna ibn Umar رضي الله عنه, there is mention of white hairs; some of the Holy Prophet's ﷺ blessed hairs were white, near his temples. In a narration in Sahih Bukhari, it is mentioned that the white hairs were on his 'Anqa' (the area between the lower lip and the chin). In Muslim, there is a narration through Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه, who says: 'If I wanted to count the white hairs on his blessed head, I could have counted them.'
