شمائل ترمذی (حدیث 119)Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله تعالٰى عنه narrates that the Noble Prophet ﷺ would often keep a cloth on his blessed head, and due to its sheen, the cloth appeared to be one that had been oiled.
Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used oil in his hair and combed his beard frequently, and he used a qina' (a type of head covering) extensively, so much so that his cloth seemed like that of an oil merchant. The qina' is a cloth worn under a cap to prevent oil from staining the cap or turban. It was constantly soaked in oil, similar to the clothes of an oil merchant. However, it's important to note that this does not mean that all of the Beloved Prophet's ﷺ clothes were oily. He preferred white clothes and kept them very clean.
