Hadith

Translation

Sayyiduna Isa bin Tahman narrates that Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله تعالٰى عنه once brought out two sandals and showed them to us; they had no hair (i.e., were not made from hairy leather). The narrator says that Sayyiduna Thabit told me, and he had been informed by Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله تعالٰى عنه, that those were the Noble Prophet’s ﷺ blessed sandals.

Narration

The Beloved Prophet's ﷺ sandals were thin, with heels, and shaped like a tongue. He would put on his right sandal first and always wore both sandals. He forbade wearing only one sandal. His special servant, Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه, kept the Beloved Prophet's ﷺ blessed sandals, which were visited by the Companions and others. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنه said, "The Holy Prophet's ﷺ blessed sandals had two laces that were divided into two parts." Hazrat Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan رحمۃ اللہ علیہ said under this Hadith, "The Holy Prophet's ﷺ blessed sandal had two laces, each divided. Similarly, the blessed sandals of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq and Sayyiduna Umar Farooq رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہما were like that. At that time, sandals with laces were common. The two leather straps of the Beloved Prophet's ﷺ blessed sandal passed between his big toe and other toes and were attached to the right and left sides of his blessed foot. The Holy Prophet ﷺ often wore sandals that are in Naqsh Pak, but these one occasionally.
